In a significant step towards advancing the recognition and support of unpaid care and domestic work (UCDW), a delegation from Zimbabwe embarked on a pivotal learning exchange visit to Kenya from March 11th to 14th.
In March 2025, WE-Care partners from Uganda and Zimbabwe participated in CSW69 where they were panelists for different side events. Bekezela and Oxfam in Zimbabwe participated in the CSW 69th Session side event in collaboration with the Governments of Kenya, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Akina Mama wa Afrika, and AWAK on the intersection of policymaking, women’s political leadership, and care work.
The ground-breaking session focused on the critical nexus of UCDW, GBV, and access to justice, issues that acutely impact women and impede their full participation in society.

As part of its regional advocacy effort to strengthen the capacity of Young Women in Africa, the Africa Leadership Foundation (ALF) was actively involved in the capacity building of over 100 young girls from across the continent during the 13th GIMAC Young Women Network Advocacy awareness-raising session held in February 2025.
