At the forefront of this initiative is the African Youth Network on Unpaid Care and Domestic Work Advocates (AYNUA), a dynamic platform launched in March 2024. AYNUA is designed to enable young people to drive change on UCDW issues from the grassroots to the policy level.
The High-Level Dialogue on Unpaid Care and Domestic Work (UCDW) was a success, as panelists and participants shared and reflected on emerging narratives on UCDW to inform advocacy initiatives and collectively identified alternative policy proposals for the Government of Uganda.

The Women’s Movement acknowledged the efforts of the Government of Uganda towards women’s empowerment as a catalyst for progress towards gender equality.
The launch of AYNUA is a watershed and auspicious moment for ALF’s advocacy work on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment (GEWE) in Africa.
The first six months (Sep 2024 to Feb 2025) of the new phase of WE-Care focused on strengthening existing relationships and building relationships through networking and partnerships with women’s rights and youth organizations, feminist movements, and other diverse groups.
